Welcome to second part of Holiday Hosting the menu! We just offered to host our friends the day prior to Christmas Eve and last year we offered to host our family Christmas day. It seemed stressful but once we created a menu and wrote out everything we wanted to serve the process flew by and was actually fun. Last year for Christmas day we made Ina Gartan’s turkey lasagna. I made the lasagana a week before and froze it, then served with an Italian salad and garlic bread. Wow did it come out good!
This year we decided to host our friends to a cheese board featuring gouda and rosemary skewers from Pioneer Woman. This was our first time making the skewers and they were super easy and came out great!
Then for dinner we made a very old recipe from my family, I think it came from Cooking Light but the debate still continues! Pork Tenderloin marinated in Dijon mustard and tarragon paired with a tarragon cranberry sauce. Sounds fancy right! This recipe is sooo easy, see link for entire recipe. We paired this entrée with Skinnytastes garlic mashed potatoes and a kale salad.
Again all this sounds fancy but if you prep the sauces, cut veggies, and marinate meat the night before (with a little olive oil) you’ll enjoy your meal and your friends company! Unless the Grinch shows up then we don’t know how to help you. Happy Holidays!
