Thank you for visiting Maple and Greige this is our first blog post and we could not be more excited! Deciding what to write first was tough as we have done so many wonderful renovations and we want to share everything with you.
We decided to start with our love of neutrals. That is really where it all started!
Growing up my grandmother has been our design inspiration as her homes are stunning. She’s not into trendy pieces or bold colors and she continues to use the same pieces she acquired years and years ago. What’s her secret?!
I realized this secret when I first started planning my wedding and I continued to gravitate to the timeless elegance of neutrals.
We all know that feeling when you can’t decide what to wear on out on a Saturday and that LBD is just asking to be worn again. Same goes for neutrals. When you design your home around key neutral colors they all tend to flow and look effortlessly chic. Just like that LBD you rocked last Saturday. With neutrals there is always an opportunity to incorporate color later on with pillows, curtains, accent pieces, etc. Another perk of neutrals is you can incorporate lower priced items with high end pieces and the result is very rich. We explain more in our dining room and kitchen renovation posts.
So far into our renovation we have fallen madly in love with greige. We even named our blog after the color we love it so much. Our favorite is Benjamin Moore Edgecomb Grey. We find it has nice warm undertones of beige while still staying current by mostly emanating gray. Everything matches this color! We have painted our dining room navy, kitchen deep gray and master bedroom beige and its amazing how all these colors go together. Below includes our favorite Benjamin Moore colors!
We recommend when starting your renovation project or when trying to freshen up a home use neutrals! Neutrals provide an effortless cozy elegance that cannot be matched.
